KATHMANDU, Jan 4: A postmortem of the body of Saraswoti Subedi, who was found dead inside the bathroom of her landlord´s house in Anamnagar on December 16, 2012, is to be conducted again.

Following special directions from Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, the re-postmortem of Subedi´s body is going to be conducted tomorrow.

According to Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Rajuman Singh Malla, a senior doctor from the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences Dharan has been called for performing an autopsy of Subedi´s body.

Earlier, kin of Subedi called on Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai and requested him for a second postmortem of Subedi´s body, expressing dissatisfaction over the first postmortem report furnished by the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.

Meanwhile, a monitoring team against the violence against women headed by Secretary Malla on Thursday visited the house where Subedi was found hanged. Subedi used to work as a domestic help at the house of Krishna Prasai in Anamnagar, Kathmandu.

Subedi family members have refused to collect the body, citing that she was murdered.

Presently, Mr Prasai, his wife Sabitri and son Prachhyapan are in police detention for further investigation into the case.
