Advocate Luitel files petition against Gagan Thapa for contempt of court

Advocate Ananta Raj Luitel, along with others, filed the petition requesting that Thapa be penalized for contempt of court.

KATHMANDU, April 27: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court (SC) demanding action against the General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), Gagan Thapa, for contempt of court.


Advocate Ananta Raj Luitel, along with others, filed the petition requesting that Thapa be penalized for contempt of court.

The preliminary hearing for the petition has been scheduled for next Tuesday.


A few days ago, NC General Secretary Gagan Thapa made a statement saying that the SC was "delaying" the case involving the 52 constitutional officeholders.


The petition has been filed demanding action against him, stating that his statement was made to influence the ongoing hearing of the case.
