However, it is uncertain whether their records will get international recognition as the sprint meet was organized by Nepal Amateur Athletics Association (NAAA) headed by Nilendra Shrestha. NAAA headed by Shrestha is not recognized internationally.

Pathak had clocked 17.71 seconds in the Hand Timing which is better than Usha Karna´s 18.5 set in 1990 in Birgunj. Twenty four mili seconds are added in Electronic Timing. During the 11th South Asian Games held in 2010, Pathak had matched Maya Thapa´s record of 17.95 seconds set in 1987.

“Though I finished in record time I am not satisfied with the performance. I must improve to finish with good timing.”

Pathak added that the opponent also gave her a tough fight. “The meet organized prior the sixth national games will help the sprinters know their timing and perform better in the upcoming games.”

Twenty-two-year-old Pathak had started her career from the Fifth National Games in 2009.

Sabita Chaudhary finished in the second place with 18.5 seconds while Sanju Chaudhary finished in the third place with 18.7 seconds.
