Pandit set to scale Mt Kilimanjaro backwards

KATHMANDU, Dec 11: Nepal Police Inspector General Upendra Kanta Aryal on Friday handed his organization's flag to the world record-holder mountaineer and ultra marathon runner Sanjaya Pandit, who is all set to climb Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain peak in Tanzania of Africa.

Pandit said he chose to plant Nepal Police flag on the top of Mt Kilimanjaro considering Nepal Police's extraordinary contributions during the disaster.His expedition will commence from the second week of December. During the flag handover, Pandit claimed that he would be the first person to scale Kilimanjaro backwards and hold Guinness world records for the feat. Pandit has already scaled mountains in six continents. Pandit started his mountaineering career by climbing Mt Everest and Mt Manaslu. He has already scaled Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mt Elbrus in Europe, Mt Kosciuszko in Australia, Mt Aconcagua in South America, Mt Fuji in Japan and Mt Denali in America.
