KATHMANDU, July 10: Paddy transplantation has been completed on 23.76% land as of July 7 this year, which is 29.19% less than the figure of the corresponding period last year.
Paddy transplantation on 52.95 % cultivable land had been done in the corresponding period of last year.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced

According to the statistics of Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, transplantation of paddy seedlings has been completed on 34.64% land in high hilly areas, 31.15% in hilly areas and 20.61% in Tarai. In the corresponding period last year, transplantation on 61.65%, 55.61%, and 51.58% of the cultivable land was completed in high hilly, hilly and Tarai areas, respectively.
Karnali Province has completed transplantation on 51.42% paddy fields -- the highest -- and Province 2, with the lowest plantation rate, has completed transplantation on 10.25% of fields. Similarly, Province 1 has 18.45%, Province 3 20.99%, Gandaki Province 28.53%, Province 2 29.51% and Sudur Pashchim Province has 44.41% transplantation rate.
Delayed monsoon is attributed for the interruption in paddy transplantation. The monsoon was delayed for 10 days this year.
