Only 18 out of 53 licensed weapons submitted in Bajura

BAJURA, April 7: District Administration Office, Bajura has urged one and all to handover licensed weapons to the administration office.


However, the office has not received 35 weapons so far. Within the deadline only 18 weapons were submitted within the deadline issued to the weapon holders.

According to the record maintained by the district administration office, there are 53 weapons including handmade guns and pistols in the district.


On March 29, District Administration Office, Bajura had issued a seven-day-deadline notice to handover all the licensed weapons to the office.


“However, we have not received all the registered weapons within the deadline,” said DSP Dal Bahadur Bogati. He further added that the administration has received only five 18 licensed weapons.


This initiative was taken by the local administration to hold the May 14 local polls in free, fair and peaceful manner in line with the Section 8 of the Arms and Ammunition Act, 2019.
