One killed in tusker attack

SINDHULI, Dec 20: Bir Bahadur Sarki died of elephant attack at Nepani VDC in Sundhuli Saturday evening.



A herd of tuskers descended on the village while villagers were warming up themselves lighting bonfire. Sarki, 45, was killed by elephants while running away from the animals, police said.



Earlier, the rampaging pachyderm had destroyed half a dozen houses at Kalapani area of Nepani.



Six-year-old Anil got injured when they tried to demolish the house of Madan Sunwar.



Meanwhile in Ilam, a tripper overturned on the road last night at Fikkal-2 of Ilam, killing a 14-year-old boy.



Police identified the deceased as Rupesh Rai of Sriantu-4.



The vehicle (Ba 5 Cha 6202) bound to Fikkal from Jhapa carrying haystack overturned on the road and Rai was killed on the spot.
