ACHHAM, April 9: One person was killed while 16 others injured by lightning strikes in the district on Monday night, police said.
The deceased has been identified as 14-year-old Janak Rawal from Panchadewal Binayak Municipality.

Deputy Superintendent of Police of Achham District Police Office Janak Bahadur Shahi said that the dead body has been sent to District Hospital for postmortem. 16 people, who were seriously injured in the lightning incident, have been undergoing treatment at District Hospital Achham.
The lightning has caused damage to standing crops in Achham, Doti and its surrounding districts.
