SIMKOT, Jan 19: A tragic tractor accident in Chankheli Rural Municipality, south of Humla, claimed one life and left three others injured on Sunday morning.
According to Police Inspector Suresh Subedi of the District Police Office, Humla, the accident occurred when a tractor (Lu 4 Ta 7720) transporting 14 quintals of subsidized salt from Boharawada to Rimi veered off the road and fell 40 meters down. Tule Bohara, 35, a resident of Chankheli-1, died on the spot.

Among the injured, Man Bahadur Bohara, 40, sustained severe head and chest injuries and is in critical condition. Dhana Bohara, 45, and Chari Bohara, 10, also residents of Chankheli-1, suffered moderate injuries, with Dhana sustaining head injuries and Chari suffering from bodily injuries.
The tractor driver, identified as Hira Bahadur Baduwal, 26, of Chhayanath Rara Municipality-14, Mugu District, fled the scene following the accident. Police have launched a search operation to find him.
A rescue team led by Assistant Sub Inspector Bir Bahadur Chand, comprising six officers from Mimi Police Post, transported the injured to the hospital for treatment.
