KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will not attend the inauguration and foundation laying ceremonies scheduled for Friday in Palpa and Rupandehi. On the advice of his doctors, PM Oli will rest at Baluwatar, while Deputy Prime Ministers Prakash Man Singh and Bishnu Paudel will participate in the events.
PM Oli has been unwell since Tuesday evening, as his voice has become hoarse due to a throat problem caused by the cold, said PM’s secretariat.

PM Oli had a program scheduled to visit Palpa on Friday to mark the breakthrough of the under-construction Siddhababa Tunnel, and lay the foundation stone for the upgrade of the Butwal-Gorusinghe road. Additionally, he was scheduled to inaugurate the Bagnaskali Rural Municipality building in Palpa and the newly constructed administrative building in Dobhan, Tinau Rural Municipality.
Earlier, the PM’s Secretariat had already released the schedule of programs for Friday, in which PM Oli would participate. However, doctors had advised him to take rest. According to sources in the Secretariat, PM Oli will attend the programs in Palpa and Butwal virtually.
