KATHMANDU, Sept 13: The 17th Annual Tuborg Image Award announced its nominees at a program held at Shangri-La Hotel in Lazimpat on September 11.

The nominations have been picked from songs that were registered at Image FM between June 15, 2014 and June 15, 2015. Artists will be competing in 23 categories like 'Best Song of the Year', 'Best Album of the Year', 'Best Folk Song Collection', 'Best Movie Sound Track', etc, at the award.
Competing in the 'Best Vocal Performance Male' category are Ram Krishna Dhakal, Shiva Pariyar, Kamal Kiran, Rajesh Payal Rai, and Swaroop Raj Acharya. Similarly, Reema Gurung Hoda, Rajina Rimal, Nikhita Thapa, Sangeeta Pradhan Rana, and Nisha Desar will be contesting for the 'Best Vocal Performance Female' award.This year, the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' will be presented to poet, litterateur, lyricist and musician Ganesh Rasik for his longtime contribution to Nepali music.
Artists like Swaroop Raj Acharya, Indira Joshi, Kamal Khatri, Milan Amatya, and Kali Prasad Baskota/Somea Baraili have been nominated for the 'Public Choice' award. Listeners can vote for their favorite song and artist in this category through an SMS. Each song has a different voting code.
The award ceremony will be held on October 10.
