According to the District Administration Office (DAO), Udayapur, number of women going overseas countries for foreign employment has increased day by day in the district for the past few years though the number of women going to overseas countries was less as compared to men.
Nayab Subba at the DAO, Chandra Kumari Rai, said now more than 100 women come to the DAO to fill up the forms for passport per month though 10-15 women per month used to come to fill up the forms of passports last year.
Married and unmarried women from the remote hilly VDCs to town and Tarai areas in the district are interested to go to overseas countries for foreign employment, it is learnt.
Similarly, number of men going to overseas countries seeking foreign employment has also increased in the district.
A large number of people visit the DAO to fill up forms for passports with the purpose of going to overseas countries as there is less possibility of employment in the country.
