At a meeting on educational reform organized by the International relations and human rights committee of the Legislature-Parliament in Singha Durbar on Sunday, Minister Tuladhar stressed that the educational institutes should emphasize on practical, vocational and life-long useful education.[break]
Moreover, Minister Tuladhar said it was not good to teach the things that renders negative impact on child psychology. Decentralization of the city-centered education was the demand of the hour, he added.
He said the government was planning to launch Plus Two programme on science stream in each constituency.
At the meeting, committee members Sita Gurung, Binda Pandey, Lucky Sherpa, Mahalaxmi Upadhyay and others stressed that the State should control the educational institutes while the school should abide by the curriculums prepared by the curriculum development center and the discrepancy between the government and private schools should be wiped out.
Moreover, the meeting recommended for a review of the education policy with thorough study, end of politicization in education sector and effective monitoring of the private schools.
Committee Chairman Padma Lal Bishwokarma and Education Secretary Shankar Prasad Pande also pointed out the need of necessary changes in distribution and management of scholarships and the provision giving affiliation to colleges.
