SAPTARI, Dec 6: Saptari Police have arrested Dhirendra Kumar Sah, the newly-elected Ward Chairperson from the by-election in Ward Number 1 of Dakneshwori Municipality in Saptari district.
Sah was arrested on Thursday on charges of murdering a local young woman and abducting her brother.

Saptari Police arrested Sah directly from the stage of the swearing-in ceremony held at the Ward Office of Dakneshwori-1.
According to the District Police Office, Saptari, Sah is being held at the Area Police Office, Kalyanpur.
In the by-election held on December 1, Sah won the position of Ward Chairperson by securing 652 votes as a candidate from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal.
