UML leader Madhav Nepal-close candidate Top Bahadur Waiba secured 557 votes in the race for district chairperson.
His close rival Bhim Neupane close to party Chairperson KP Sharma Oli received 536 votes.
Other elected in the new district committee are Ashok Byanju (vice-chairperson), Narayan Prasad Pandey (secretary) and Indra Bahadur Tamang (under-secretary). RSS
