Nepse drops 6.38 points

KATHMANDU, June 21: After nominal fluctuations in the last few trading days, Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index dropped by 1.34 percent or 6.38 points to close at 468.61 points on Monday.



All trading groups saw their sub-indices shed points on the day. [break]



Sub-indices of Banking and Development Bank groups dropped by 3.06 points and 1.81 points to settle at 451.8 points and 485.73 points respectively. Similarly, Hydropower and Finance groups also lost 0.73 points and 1.28 points to close the day at 715.69 points and 417.41 points respectively.



Insurance and Others groups saw their sub-indices go down by 2.94 points and 23.49 points to close at 560.22 points and 516.99 points respectively.



A total of 158,539 units of shares and 64 scrips worth Rs 45.72 million changed hands through 843 transactions. Total market capitalization -- total worth of listed shares in the secondary market - was recorded at Rs 367.29 billion on Monday.
