According to a press statement issued by the organizers, QC Events, a division of the bookshop Quixote’s Cove located in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, the three-day festival will showcase works of over 30 writers and authors from around the world.[break]
Festival director Suvani Singh says, “We are now in the preparatory stage of the festival. Through it we aim to put Nepal in the limelight for literary events.”
“The event has a list of talented advisors like Namita Gokhale, co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival and authors Manjushree Thapa, Sanjeev Uprety and Rabi Thapa. They will also be assisting in the designing of the programs,” she added.
The festival will be holding discussions, readings and performances daily. English, Nepali and other regional languages will be the mediums of presentation.
The press release further states that the festival will rely on funding from a variety of bilateral, multilateral and corporate sponsorship guided by Nepal Economic Forum, an independent national organization chaired by author Sujeev Shakya. Pranab Man Singh and Suvani Singh, operators of Quixote’s Cove, are managing the festival.
