Nepal's export sees 46% growth in first seven months of current FY

Export trade has seen a consistent increase in recent months. In the month of Magh (mid-January to mid-February) alone, export trade worth Rs 29 billion was recorded.

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Nepal's exports have increased by Rs 127 billion in the first seven months from mid-August to mid-February of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25. This is 46 percent more than the same period of the previous Fiscal Year (FY). Last year, exports worth Rs 86 billion were recorded during this period.


Export trade has seen a consistent increase in recent months. In the month of Magh (mid-January to mid-February) alone, export trade worth Rs 29 billion was recorded.

There has been a significant increase in export trade over the last four months. Export trade worth Rs 14.3 billion was recorded in Kartik (mid-October to mid-November), followed by Rs 20.98 billion in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December), and Rs 25.3 billion in Poush (mid-December to mid-January). Overall exports have increased, particularly due to the increase in exports of soybean and sunflower oil.


Import trade has also been increasing gradually in recent months. In the first seven months of the current FY, import trade worth Rs 988 billion was recorded, marking 10 percent more than the same period last year.
