Nepalis in Texas provide relief to quake victims

KATHMANDU, May 19: Nepalese Society Incs- Texas, a non-profit organization in Texas of United States of America, has distributed relief materials including medicines worth Rs 11 million to earthquake victims in affected districts of the country. Bal Joshi, vice-president of the organization, informed that the relief materials were distributed from the money collected by Nepali people residing in Texas.

Over 30,000 Nepalis live in the state of USA. Members of Nepalese Society distributed food items and other materials as relief to victims in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Gorkha, Dhadhing, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Kavre, Dolakha and Rasuwa districts.


Likewise, it also ran health camps in the areas. Joshi informed that the organization will also work for rehabilitation of the earthquake victims. Two groups were mobilized for relief distributions.
