Nepali Embassy in Kuwait encourages Nepali workers to join social security program

The Nepali Embassy in Kuwait has urged Nepali workers to join the government’s social security program.

KATHMANDU, January 20: The Nepali Embassy in Kuwait has urged Nepali workers to join the government’s social security program.


During an interaction program on "Financial Awareness and Safe Remittance Flow", the embassy encouraged workers to enhance their understanding of financial literacy, remittance processes, and the Social Security Fund. The program also highlighted the role of financial institutions and money transfer agencies in Kuwait.

Representatives from the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Kuwait, the Foreign Branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, and Nepali employees from financial institutions handling remittances to Nepal actively participated in the program.


Ambassador Ghanshyam Lamsal, addressing the gathering, emphasized the importance of educating Nepali workers in Kuwait on financial literacy. He urged workers to understand the value of financial awareness and social security initiatives to ensure greater participation.


Participants shared insights on financial literacy, the trends and opportunities in remittance transfers to Nepal, and strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the Social Security Fund while boosting worker involvement. They also thanked the embassy for addressing these critical issues.


Nepali representatives from Kuwait’s financial sector and diplomatic staff from the embassy were present at the event.
