A huge number of cadres gathered for obstructing the entry-exit checkpoints at the Nepal-India border have pelted stones at the Area Police Office, Jamunaha, said District Police Office, Banke.
Sub Inspector Bishnu Giri, in-charge at the Area Police Office, Jamunaha, has been injured in the attack.
As per the decision of the central committee meeting of the Madhesi Front, over 100 cadres have been mobilized at Rupaidiha checkpoint since early Saturday.
Similarly, the two-way blockade has brought the Jamunaha checkpoint to a grinding halt.
Indian side has not allowed hundreds of Nepal-bound cargo vehicles to pass through the border checkpoint into Nepal while the Madhesi cadres have intercepted the India-bound vehicles.
India Sashastra Seema Ball (SSB) has been staging blockade at the entry-exit checkpoints across the Nepal-India border since few days.
Due to the blockade, over 100 Nepal-bound cargo vehicles including 53 petro-loaded tankers have been stranded at Rupaidiha of Indian market.
