JAJARKOT, March 12: UCPN (Maoist) leader Shakti Basnet said on Tuesday that Nepal is straying from the constitutional track in starting the process of forming a CJ-led election government.

Talking at a press meet organized by pro-Maoist journalists here Tuesday, he also said the political and constitutional impasse is only getting more compliated by the day due to the failure of the political parties to forge consensus.[break]

"CJ-led government is now a compulsion for the parties," he said. He also a Nepali Congress-led government with Sushil Koirala as prime minister could not be formed because the Nepali Congress was dismissive of the UCPN (Maoist).

Criticizing the opposition parties, he said they are the root cause of the current deadlock because they neither offer solution nor accept the UCPN (Maoist) proposal.
