KATHMANDU, Oct 31: The government has sent a diplomatic note to India on the death of a 10-year-old boy Pawan Mahara from Darchula district after he was hit by a stone on his head in course of road construction in the Indian side of the border in Dharchula area of Uttarakhand, India.
Spokesperson at the Foreign Ministry, Sewa Lamsal, said that the government sent the diplomatic note to India via the Indian Embassy based in Kathmandu on Sunday. The Home Ministry on Saturday had urged the Foreign Ministry to make necessary coordination and initiatives for proper compensation to the victim's family and adoption of safety precautions during construction works.

The Home Ministry informed that the 10-year-old son of Hikmat Mahara, Pawan, from Dumling village of Byas Rural Municipality-2 was killed as he was hit by a stone on his head. The stone was hurled from the blasting made to upgrade the road at Dharchula area on the Indian side of the border on October 28.
