Nepal records 1,664 new cases, 1,786 recoveries and 20 deaths

KATHMANDU, August 31: Nepal recorded 1,664 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday along with 1,786 recoveries and 20 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, August 31: Nepal recorded 1,664 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday along with 1,786 recoveries and 20 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). 


As many as 12,222 tests for COVID-19 were conducted on Tuesday. Of them, 1,523 PCR tests and 141 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 35,591 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 33,214 are in home isolation, 2,377 in institutional isolation, 537 in ICUs, 329 in quarantine and 164 on ventilators.


Meanwhile, the Kathmandu valley recorded 564 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 413 were recorded in Kathmandu, 64 in Bhaktapur and 87 in Lalitpur districts.
