Nepal defeats Baharain 2-0

KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Nepal has defeated Bahrain 2-0 in its first match of the Group C qualifiers of the AFC U-16 Championship at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Wednesday.



Anjan Bista and Ananta Tamang netted one each in the first half  to mark happy beginning. [break]



Earlier, in the day´s kick off, Iraq thumped Turkmenistan 8-0.



The winners of all 10 groups and the best five runners-up will join host Thailand in the finals of the competition to be held next year. Nepal will take on Iraq on Friday.
