Speaking at an interaction on 'Challenges to constitution implementation and media's role' organized by the Nepal Press Union (NPU), Kathmandu in the Capital, Sitaula said that political unity is needed for effective implementation of the constitution.
"The country is in need of unity at present as constitution cannot be implemented effectively and elections cannot be held without national unity," he said.
He stated that the constitution was promulgated in rush to make up for the failure of first Constituent Assembly to bring out a constitution and legitimize NC's upcoming general convention.
On the occasion, senior journalist Harihar Birahi said that NC should play important role in implementing the constitution as various democratic movements had taken place under NC's leadership. RSS
