The NEA's notification explains that the disruption is necessary due to construction activities at the Lapsiphedi and Changunarayan substations. These projects are vital for enhancing the capabilities of the Teku substation and upgrading the Teku-Syuchatar 66 KV line to a more robust 132 KV system.

During this upgrade process, electricity services in different areas of Kathmandu will experience temporary disruption. The NEA has scheduled the interruption to take place from 10 AM to 3 PM. However, there is a possibility that the work could conclude ahead of schedule, resulting in an earlier restoration of electricity services.
