NC Prez Deuba cancels scheduled visit to India

Earlier, Deuba had planned to attend the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, India, for a ritual bath on Thursday. Similarly he was scheduled to participate as the keynote speaker in a conference organized by the India Foundation in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has canceled his trip to India.


Earlier, Deuba had planned to attend the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, India, for a ritual bath on Thursday. Similarly he was scheduled to participate as the keynote speaker in a conference organized by the India Foundation in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

However, President Deuba canceled the visit at the last moment. NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel said that President Deuba will not go to India. Paudel said that he decided not to attend due to concerns over the expected heavy crowd at the Maha Kumbh.
