Speaking at the Dhangadhi Airport on Sunday, Dahal disclosed that discussions to form a new national unity government were underway with Nepali Congress. He outlined that such a government is essential to resolve current political deadlock, lift the blockade, implement the new constitution and carry out the task of reconstruction and rehabilitation smoothly.
"A national unity government is necessary to address all the issues that the country is facing lately" Dahal said claiming parties had agreed to form such a government after the promulgation of the new constitution.
When asked if the current government will be turned into a national unity government or a new national government will be formed, he said, "First, political parties should agree on forming a national unity government. Then only, discussion will enter on if the existing government can be turned into a national government or a new government has to be formed."
