NA personnel defuse bomb in Mahottari

MAHOTTARI, Dec 4: A bomb disposal squad of Nepalese Army (NA) defused a bomb found in Aurahi-Gaushala road section of Mahottari district on Friday.

The bomb was discovered on Thursday evening in Aurahi-3 and was defused by the bomb disposal squad of NA's First Rifle Battalion, according to sub inspector Babul Thakur, chief of Aurahi Police Post. The bomb was said to be powerful as a very loud bang was heard when it was disposed, according to Thakur.

According to him, had the bomb exploded in the market it could have caused huge damage to lives and properties. “It might have been left on the road by somebody with the intention to spread terror among locals,” said sub-inspector Thakur. “Nobody has claimed responsibility and the investigation is underway to identify those involved,” he added.
