RAUTAHAT, July 2: A mother and her daughter were found dead at Pataura of Maulapur Municipality-4 in Rautahat district on Saturday.
According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, a 24-year-old woman named Kabita Devi was found dead beneath the stairs, while her two-year-old daughter, Aruhi, was found hanging from a ceiling fan.

DSP Uma Shankar Prasad Yadav said Kabita’s husband Dhirendra Shah and father-in-law Nagendra Shah were on the run following the incident.
Police have arrested Kabita’s mother-in-law and her sister-in-law for further investigation.
Kabita's parents have accused her husband’s family of killing her for not bringing dowry.
