Monsoon does seem to be a wonderful change from the hot and stuffy summer but it also comes with its own set of problems. Many people complain about the muddy roads or the indoor culture that comes with the rain but there are also many people who seem to enjoy it. [break]
“Monsoon is a very important season because it’s the season for the plantation of paddy. I would say I hate the monsoon floods and landslides as well as the rain that gets collected on the roads. Floods and landslides are one of the most dangerous disasters that kill a lot of people. While going or returning from college I usually get splashed with muddy water as the vehicles pass by. I get mad with both the government and the monsoon season because whenever I think it won´t rain, it will rain and I have to come back home all wet,” says Sakin Maharjan.

Monsoon season also affects many outdoor activities, imprisoning young minds within their houses. And taking the current trend of outdoor adventure sports into account, young people seem to be having a very difficult time indulging in these activities under the rain.
Supporting this claim Avaneesh Wbs says on our Facebook page, “I hate the fact that it spoils your outings and sporting activities.”
The monsoon also bring about a lot of water that Kathmandu’s sewage cannot handle and also the many potholes on the road get filled up with dirty muddy water.
Pedestrians also complain about the rain turning roads muddy, dirtying their clothes and feet. Aabhusan Nepali complains that the monsoon brings about a lot of hilo that makes it impossible to walk on the street with sandals on.
