MoCTCA gears up preparation to amend 45 years old Tourism Act

KATHMANDU, August 2: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has made preparations to amend the 45 years old Tourism Act after the Council of Ministers approved the draft of the Federal Tourism Bill by amending the Tourism Act 1978 on July 11.

KATHMANDU, August 2: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has made preparations to amend the 45 years old Tourism Act after the Council of Ministers approved the draft of the Federal Tourism Bill by amending the Tourism Act 1978 on July 11.


According to the officials of MoCTCA, the process of drafting a new law is underway with the aim of making the tourism sector of Nepal an important basis for social and economic development by incorporating the latest developments in the tourism sector into the law.

The government has asked for suggestions from entrepreneurs, professional organizations, associations, experts and researchers for this bill. The MoCTCA has mentioned that suggestions for the new law can be submitted to the ministry within 30 days.


The upcoming bill has been prepared to cover the contribution made by all three levels of government to tourism promotion.
