MetLife settles claims worth Rs 10m

KATHMANDU, May 29: MetLife Nepal has paid 51 death claims resulting from the recent earthquake. Issuing a press statement, the company said that 100 life insurance claims -- 50 directly and 50 through MetLife's Micro Finance Partners -- have been submitted and the settlement amount has reached a total of Rs 10 million.

The company stated that most of their offices are undertaking normal operations and are giving high priority to the claims settlement process.


"Many claims are being settled within 24 hours following a simplified settlement process, with the help of our agents," the company said in a statement.
