Speaker-convened meeting of top leaders underway

KATHMANDU, May 7: A meeting of the top leaders of the major political parties called by Speaker Devraj Ghimire has started. The meeting is centered on removing the obstruction in the House of Representatives.

KATHMANDU, May 7: A meeting of the top leaders of the major political parties called by Speaker Devraj Ghimire has started. The meeting is centered on removing the obstruction in the House of Representatives.


Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane and others are participating in the meeting which started in the Speaker's office at Singha Durbar.

The annual session of the House of Representatives will begin on May 10. In the previous session, the NC had interrupted the meeting by demanding a parliamentary inquiry against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, accusing him of being involved in cooperative fraud.


The Speaker has convened the meeting of the top leaders of the major parties with the aim of conducting parliament meetings without interruption in the upcoming session.
