“In my paintings, I have projected the political situation in my country using the comic illustration format .I’ve sketched how the politicians indifference to the problems of the country is taking the county on a roller coater ride backwards and making the citizens depressed and dissatisfied”informs one of the artist Mekha Bahadur Limbu Subba.

Another artist Tikka Dutta Dahal explains, “Culture is the title of my recent series of etchings. I am deeply inspired by local religious traditions and I seek to highlight my fascination with it. The mysterious sadhus is an enigma for me and the temple bells, shiva linga and the trishul which embody ancient artistry are recurring motifs in my work.”
Mostly done in acrylic the artists have managed to capture the emotions aptly on the canvas.
The eloquence with which they’ve portrayed the contemporary issues like the grim future of our country because of the politicians, identity crisis because of westernization, the beauty of our culture and the importance of safeguarding it, the ties that bind us with nature and adds meaning to our lives are the reasons that make the exhibition a must visit for all.
The exhibition will be on till January, 17.
