Maoist Vice Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai declared formation of the state, which would have Mithila, Bhojpura and Abadh as sub-states. Eleven districts -- Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahotari and Sarlahi (Mithila), Rautahat, Bara and Parsa (Bhojpura) and Nawalparasi, Rupandehi and Kapilvastu (Abadh) -- fall under the Maoists´ Madhes state.
The Maoists assigned Bishownath Shah, Bhim Prasad Gautan and Devendra Paudel as in-charges of Mithila, Bhojpura and Abadh sub-states, respectively.
On the occasion, Bhattarai said the declaration of autonomous states was made to foil conspiracy against federalism even though it is the CA which will make the formal declaration of the states.
Meanwhile, cadres of Madhesi People´s Right´s Forum (Democratic) staged a sit-in and shouted slogans in Janakpur against the Maoist declaration.
