Man arrested for swindling Rs 2.68 million by promising jobs in South Korea

Police have arrested a 32-year-old man accused of defrauding three individuals of Rs 2.68 million by falsely promising to send them to South Korea for employment.

KATHMANDU, May 21: Police have arrested a 32-year-old man accused of defrauding three individuals of Rs 2.68 million by falsely promising to send them to South Korea for employment.


The suspect, Ramesh Kumar Yadav, originally from Inaruwa Municipality-7 in Sunsari and currently residing in Pepsi-Cola, Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-16, was taken into custody on Tuesday from the Pepsi-Cola area in Kathmandu.

According to police, Yadav allegedly collected money from the victims under the pretense of arranging foreign employment and then severed contact with them.


Following complaints filed by the victims, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku apprehended Yadav and handed him over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further investigation and legal proceedings.
