KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Nepal faced defeat in the third match of the five-match bilateral T20 cricket series against Malaysia.
In the third match of the series held on Sunday at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval, Nepal lost to Malaysia by 13 runs. Chasing Malaysia’s target of 121 runs, Nepal managed to score only 107 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For Nepal, Rubi Poddar scored the highest with 31 runs. Similarly, captain Indu Barma remained not out with 22 runs.
Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Malaysia scored 120 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Malaysia’s Ainna Hamizah Hashim contributed the highest with 61 runs. She faced 58 balls and struck 5 fours. On the bowling side, Nepal’s Kabita Joshi and Kabita Kunwar each took 2 wickets.
In the previous matches, Nepal had lost the first game to Malaysia by 3 runs, while winning the second game by 6 wickets. So far, Malaysia leads the series 2-1.
