KATHMANDU, May 11: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the May 13 local level election would determine where the country would be heading in the future.

Addressing an election rally in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Oli said the local level election would fix the country’s direction though it won’t bring about changes in the country’s federal and provincial governments.

Former Prime Minister hoped for people’s support for his party’s candidates, stating that people are familiar with the development initiatives taken by the UML.

Oli also claimed that UML had preserved the historical and archeological heritages linked with people’s faiths, traditions, cultures and customs. “We have preserved history and heritages,” Oli added.

Oli also shared about the development efforts on road construction, airports and other infrastructure projects carried out during his premiership.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City should be made a beautiful, clean and developed city since foreigners also build their first impression from this city, he added.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s mayoral candidate Keshav Sthapit and deputy mayoral candidate Sunita Dangol pledged to pay attention to the beautification and sanitation of the city if they were elected.
