KATHMANDU, May 27: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) reported that a westerly disturbance and local winds are currently influencing Nepal's weather. Moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea is also contributing to the conditions.
This afternoon, the DHM predicted partly to generally cloudy skies in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will see mainly fair to partly cloudy weather. The DHM forecasts light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at several places in the hilly regions and a few other areas. A few locations in the high hills and mountainous regions may also receive light rain and snowfall.
Chances of rain with thunder today
Tonight, the DHM predicts partly to generally cloudy skies in the hilly regions of Madhesh, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with mostly fair to partly cloudy conditions elsewhere. It expects light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly areas of Madhesh and other provinces and at isolated places in the rest of the country. Light rain and snowfall may also occur at a few high-altitude locations in the high hills and mountains.
