Starting from November 13, SH is organizing ´Pashmina Week´, which will last till November 20. [break]

The store offers a 10 percent discount on exclusive pashmina wears through the week. "We have decided to organize ´Pashmina Week´ in order to attract local customers as the consumption of pashmina in the domestic market is very low while it is among the top exportable items," said Rohini Shrestha, store in-charge at SH.

During the week, the store is showcasing a variety of pashmina wears such as shawls, stoles, scarves, men and women sweaters, coats, blankets, gloves, arm warmers, caps, panchu among others in myraid styles, colors and designs.

The store has blended pashmina wears as well with 50 percent pashmina and 50 percent silk, 70 percent pashmina and 30 percent silk, and 100 percent pashmina. Among 100 percent pashmina items, coats are available in the range of Rs 40,000, sweaters at Rs 4,755 to Rs 6,785, panchus at Rs 4,215, knitted scarves at Rs 2,160, caps and plain scarves at Rs 1,215, gloves at Rs 700 to Rs 825 and arm warmers at Rs 425.

According to Shrestha, scarves, shawls, caps and gloves are major sellable items at the store.

"We have been offering pashmina wears for the last two decades and as the local people still have the misconception that pashmina wears are very expensive, we have tried to spread the message that it´s worthwhile to spend money on pashmina," said Rojina Thapa, export and communications officer at SH.

The sale of pashmina wears at the store has increased during ´Nepal Tourism Year 2011´ as the number of tourists visiting the country has increased significantly. "Our major customers are expatriates, tourists, high end as well as middle class Nepalis in the recent years," informed Thapa.

Sana Hastakala also exports pashmina wears to United States, United Kingdom, Italy and Japan, among other countries.

SH will also celebrate ´Tamu Utsav´ for a week at the store from November 20. During the event, the customers will be welcomed by Gurung women wearing traditional costumes and jewelry. Similar traditional Gurung outfits and jewelry will be displayed and sold. Besides, there will be a live demonstration of Gurung craft making as well as live Gurung music and dances.

Republica presents you a variety of pashmina wears one can feast one´s eyes on during the ´Pashmina Week´ and also buy some of them:
