Late King Birendra's property not found in five districts

Kathmandu, Feb 15: No property belonging to late king Birendra has been found in Jhapa, Gorkha, Lamjung, Rupandehi and Dang districts, the Nepal Trust Office stated.



An investigation team of the Nepal Trust Office has been searching for the late king's property in various districts since fiscal year 2072/73 BS.

Office secretary Bhim Prasad Upadhyay said that they searched for the property of late King Birendra studying the land ownership records at the Land Reforms Office in the five districts but could not find any property in the name of the late king and his family.


The office sources further informed that investigation was on in Bardiya and Banke districts. The search would be continued in Kailali, Kanchanpur and Bara districts after few days.


The office stated it will continue the search in Kathmandu valley expecting to trace additional property belonging to the former royal family.
Such property would be utilized for educational and health sectors for the public benefit, it is learnt. RSS
