Lamichhane requests Speaker Ghimire to lift his MP suspension

Citing the example of Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Tek Bahadur Gurung’ suspension being lifted, a leader said that Lamichhane has urged the Speaker to take the initiative for the same process to be applied in his case as well.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Suspended Member of Parliament (MP) Rabi Lamichhane of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has met Speaker Devraj Ghimire.


Discussions are currently ongoing between Lamichhane and Speaker Ghimire, who reached Singha Durbar along with RSP MPs on Friday.

Lamichhane is said to have gone to meet Speaker Ghimire with an application to lift his suspension from the post of MP. It is said that Lamichhane has requested for the lifting of the suspension, claiming that the suspension is illegal and against the rules of the House of Representatives.
