NC President Sushil Koirala made the formal request to Gurung by making a telephone call today morning.The office bearers' meeting scheduled for Tuesday will be taking the formal decision, sources close to Koirala said.
"Taranath Ranabhat, among others, were floated as the president candidates," the source added, "However, a veteran Gurung will be the candidate of the party."
