Koshi Province Assembly concludes fifth session

BIRATNAGAR, Sept 21: The fifth session of the Koshi Provincial Assembly has concluded, effective from Friday midnight. The Province Chief, Parshuram Khapung, ended the session on the recommendation of the provincial government.

The fifth session saw 21 meetings, including policies and programs for the fiscal year 2024/2025 as well as the budget being passed. During the session, Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki received a vote of confidence twice.

The assembly passed several bills, including amendments to the Provincial Civil Service Act, bills to amend various provincial acts, and a bill related to the management of agricultural grants.

This session also finalized the chairpersons of seven thematic committees.
