KMC Mayor Shah thanks RPP for cleaning up after event

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah has expressed his gratitude to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) for cleaning the Balkhu area on Tuesday after holding an awareness meeting.

KATHMANDU, April 8: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah has expressed his gratitude to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) for cleaning the Balkhu area on Tuesday after holding an awareness meeting.


Shah said that the KMC is not looking for opportunities to impose fines on those responsible for littering.

The RPP took the initiative to clean the Balkhu area themselves after the meeting after which Mayor Shah expressed his gratitude.


Taking to Facebook, Mayor Shah wrote “The metropolitan city wants no one, be it an individual, institution, or event, to litter in public spaces. I sincerely thank RPP for cleaning up after today's event.”


Earlier Tuesday, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden suggested that Mayor Shah should not act like a hero and send the letter. The metropolitan city had previously fined RPP Rs 100,000  for littering.
