KMC issues nine-point appeal to combat air pollution

The KMC has urged people to regularly maintain their vehicles, avoid open burning of waste, refrain from burning plastic materials, use equipment to reduce air pollution in industries, and wear masks for personal protection.

KATHMANDU, April 4: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has recently stated that air pollution is increasing in the Kathmandu Valley and across the country, urging the public to cooperate in reducing the risks. On Friday, the KMC issued a nine-point appeal to the general public.


The KMC has urged people to regularly maintain their vehicles, avoid open burning of waste, refrain from burning plastic materials, use equipment to reduce air pollution in industries, and wear masks for personal protection.

The metropolis has also urged the public to operate within the air quality and smoke standards set by the Pollution Control Standards 2081.
