“Dashain is the time when a lot of refrigerators are sold. People have lot of meat during Dashain and they do not eat all of them in a day. They need to store it and make sure that it remains good to cook even after a few days,” says Ramesh Shrestha, GM of CG Impex, which distributes products of LG Electronics.
First time buyers are not the only ones who make up refrigerator sellers´ clientele. Retailers also say the trend of getting a second fridge at home is rising.
“A lot of people who already have a fridge at home are buying another as they realize that they need additional space to store their foodstuff during Dashain,” Amitesh Roy of Him Electronics, the distributor of Samsung products, told myrepublica.com.
