Karate players leave for Thailand

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: Nepali Karate players have left for Thailand to participate in the 12th Funakoshi Gichin Cup World Karate-Do Championship that will be held on August 18-23 in Pataya, Thailand.



Karate players Shyam Sherpa, Sonam Sherpa, Divas Shrestha, Prince Raj Shrestha and official Vishnu Bahadur Karki, chairman of Nepal Sotokan Karate Association has left for the cup.[break]



Players from Around 50 countries will be participating in the International Karate Championship.



Member secretary of the National Sports Council, Yuva Raj Lama, saw-off the team on Wednesday.



Before the departure, Association´s Chairman Karki expressed his confidence that the players will try their best to win medals.
